There was a time when I used to promote events in New York with my friend, Saatchi & Saatchi Art Director, Alvin Ho Young. One of those events was The Good News Party at CBGB’s. We wanted to do something special for the Spring party, so we decided to create an animated invite. What you see here is frame-by-frame old school cell animation (by way of Flash). We videotaped ourselves, along with Ultragrrrl (one of the night’s DJs), and then animated over the footage. It took FOREVER, but we loved the way it turned out and people were psyched to come out. In the end, it was an incredible night and completely worth the effort.

To this day, Terminix is one of the most fun clients I’ve ever worked with. They were pretty much up for anything – as long as it was fun. Which isn’t what you might expect from a company that deals entirely in pest control. These are a few of the banners we did in support of their free inspection promotional and online swarm report (a tool that allows users to track the spread of termites on a national level).
