In January 2020, before COVID-19 spread worldwide, U.S. search interest for “lgbt friendly” had reached an all-time high. But by March 2020, search interest for “lgbt friendly” dropped dramatically as the pandemic shut down small businesses and gathering places around the country.
In celebration of the resilience and importance of these inclusive spaces, we developed an immersive digital experience to highlight some of the gathering places that continue to represent belonging, strength, and joy for the LGBTQ+ community.
The experience incorporated the power of Google Maps and Search, highlighting inclusive businesses and venues through their Google Business profiles.
